Choosing Directors

Applications for directors are received from the beginning of March. If they are able to invite us to see their work, this is all to the good, but we also run informal group interviews and invite prospective directors to our casting workshops.

The final 28 directors are chosen based on their enthusiasm for, and understanding of, the festival and its ethos. Moreover, we are looking for directors who have a genuine passion for new writing and the importance of theatre in modern society, and who will bring flair, joy and inspiration to the rehearsal process.
